How Long Do Authorized User Tradelines Stay on Your Credit Report?
An authorized user tradeline can remain on your credit report while you are attached to the account, but there is no universal countdown that applies to every issuer and bureau after you are removed.
Sometimes the account disappears after the issuer updates the bureaus. Sometimes it remains visible for a period while data cycles through. The practical point is that removal is not always instant.
While you remain an authorized user
If the issuer reports authorized users, the account can continue updating as part of the issuer’s normal furnishing cycle. Balance, limit, status and other fields can change from month to month.
After you are removed
The primary cardholder or authorized user can generally contact the issuer to request removal. After that, the issuer updates its records and the bureaus receive new furnished data. How quickly the account disappears can vary.
Do not plan a time-sensitive application around the assumption that removal will be reflected the same day.
Can history remain after removal?
Credit-report display behavior can differ. If an account is still appearing after you were removed and you believe it is being reported incorrectly, start with the issuer and bureau rather than assuming it will fix itself indefinitely.
Why this matters when buying a tradeline
Purchased AU tradelines are typically not permanent assets. You are paying for a period of authorized-user reporting, not buying ownership of the credit-card account. That is one reason your long-term plan should still revolve around primary accounts you control.

A quick reality check
Tradelines are one part of a credit profile, not a guaranteed score increase or approval shortcut. Results depend on what actually reports, the rest of the credit file, the scoring model used and the lender reviewing the application. Primary accounts, low balances and on-time payments still matter.
